Illinois Congressional delegation opposes newsprint tariff

joint letter signed by all 18 members of the House of Representatives from Illinois was sent to the International Trade Commission to voice their opposition to tariffs on newsprint. This letter was spearheaded by Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-17th District) and her staff.

There was a tremendous amount of effort that went into getting every member of the Illinois delegation on board and my thanks go to all of our members that contacted their elected officials to make our case against the harmful impact of tariffs.

I would imagine that it’s extremely rare that the entire delegation (all 18) from Illinois has been in complete agreement on any topic. This speaks volumes about our brand and the credibility we have with our elected officials.

Please take this opportunity to thank your members of the House as they came through for us and we want to make sure that their support doesn’t go unappreciated.

It’s also a great story that we should tell our readers.
